What should I expect when my baby is born?

When your baby is born at an affiliated hospital, simply tell your obstetrician and the hospital staff that you have chosen Holmdel Pediatrics as your child's pediatrician. Our office will be notified of your baby's birth by the hospital staff. Upon discharge, please contact our office about scheduling your baby's first visit to our office. If you give birth at a hospital where we are not on staff; please contact our office prior to the baby’s discharge to set up a visit in our office.

What to expect if my child needs to be admitted to the hospital?

If your child needs to be admitted to the pediatric floor, the child will be under the care of the hospitalist. A hospitalist is a doctor who provides care for patients in a hospital setting. They have the same education and training as your primary care doctor, but specialize in providing hospital care.
